Iran, however, boasts dozens of poets, some dating back thousands of years. These poems are still familiar to Persians and especially musicians. In this spirit, it is worth noting that a carpet in the United Nations building is adorned with a famous poem by Saadi Shirazi. The poem is: “Human beings are members of a whole, In creation of one essence and soul. If one member is afflicted with pain, Other members uneasy will remain.
