Silence Presents: Kitchen Orkestra and CROW
Friday October 27, 2017

Influenced by tastes of Balkan, Celtic, Bluegrass, and Latin music,Toronto-based Kitchen Orkestra engages, entertains, and entices audiences with surprising Folk arrangements and lively original music. Proud of their unique mix of fiddle, mandolin, vocals, upright bass, cajon, and percussion, these four inspired musicians enjoy testing the creative possibilities of their instruments and combining them artfully, cooking thoughtful blends of grooves, textures, instrumental melodies, and vocals. By casting strong flavours and vivid stories into musical moods – ranging from danceable, to contemplative, to cinematic – Kitchen Orkestra delivers an engaging experience that will whet any musical appetite. This quirky Canadian folk quartet released their first album, Entree, as a heartfelt snapshot of the music the band has been creating and performing in the past year. While their repertoire is diverse, their performance ultimately offers a quality of raw danceability, musical expression, and sincere storytelling. A Kitchen Orkestra show is an entertaining and satisfying experience that often teeters on the interactive… a kitchen party is for all to sing and dance, after all!
