Born and raised in Montreal, 23-year-old artist Olivia Khoury will be touring Ontario with her quartet for the first weekend of September. The tour will kick off the 5th at the Emmet Ray bar in downtown Toronto, a highlight being the free outdoor performance at Mel Lastman Square the 6th. The Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival has selected young budding musicians across Toronto and Canada to showcase national talent and support undergraduate students. The vocalist challenges jazz by melding folk and latin with her unique vocal tone through honestly rendered standards and original songs.
The Olivia Khoury Quartet will play Silence on Sunday, September 8th at 2pm. Followed by a performance incorporating local musical improvisors.
