The Young Novelists May 31, 2018 The Young Novelists are a Toronto-based band fronted by husband and wife Graydon James and Laura Spink. Since the band’s inception in 2009, they have played stages across the U.S. and Canada, released three full-length albums, won numerous awards and continuous praise for their unmatched, effortless harmonies. Their last record “made us strangers” landed them a Canadian Folk Music Award for New/Emerging Artist, a nomination for Vocal Group of the Year, and reached top 20 on both !earshot and Stingray Music (formerly Galaxie) folk charts. Silence Presents: Il-Dong Bae and Dong-Won Kim January 24, 2018 Il-Dong Bae is highly regarded as one of Korea’s finest p’ansori singers. He has performed numerous concerts both internationally and within Korea. His extraordinary life story is featured in the documentary, Intangible Asset Number 82. Dong-Won Kim is a Korean percussionist, vocalist, composer, and improviser. He has played in Yo Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble and has studied Korean traditional music since 1984. Dong-Won Kim has performed at the Guelph JazzFest and was artists in residence at the University of Guelph. They played as a duo for a year, then with Randy Sutherland formed Tamarack. Jeff left that band to join Cowboy Junkies, which is still going strong, and he’s played on many of James’ solo projects over the years.
