Summer Workshop Series

Talented vocal coach and improviser, Erwan Noblet will lead three distinct workshops on Tuesdays throughout the summer here at Silence!

The following three workshops will be running on multiple dates at Silence! Be sure to check the date and time on the ticket you purchase.

Body and voice: let’s free your voice!

Do you know your voice? This 3-hour workshop is a place for you to take your time to connect with your body sensations and free your voice. This exploration will start with a meditation followed by body movements inspired by methods such as Feldenkrais and Alexander. You will release body tensions and play with your vocal sounds and your vocal possibilities.

Bring your Yoga Mat, a water bottle, and a blanket. Snacks and Tea will be provided.

Ticket Prices (excl HST): $30 Suggested donation or PWYC

Admission: Anyone interested in the infinite power of the human voice.

Age: + 16 years old

Circle Singing: let’s improvise!

Let’s create music collectively in the present moment. You don’t need to be a professional singer to join this playful workshop; we will communicate through games, including sounds and body percussions. You will be able to express your “inner score” by assigning different loops of undomesticated sounds, melodies, and rhythmic patterns to their partners in any style of music.

Bring a water bottle. Snacks and Tea will be provided.

Ticket Prices (excl HST): $20 Suggested donation or PWYC

Admission: Anyone who wants to make music collectively.

Age: + 8 years old

Seats: 20 maximum

Singers: let’s get rid of vocal fatigue!

This 4-hour workshop is an opportunity for you to get vocal tips to sing more healthily and meet other singers in your community. Each of you will have the chance to sing a challenging song from your repertoire (covers or original compositions) and get personalized feedback on vocal technique. All contemporary music styles are accepted (pop, indie, jazz, soul, rock, gospel, metal, funk…).

The room has a piano and music gears, but please bring your other instrument (if you accompany yourself) or a backing track (in a USB key), a microphone (covid19 restrictions), and a water bottle. Snacks will be provided.
